Reports Saturday indicate that Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) forces in Iraq have killed 700 members of a tribe in eastern Syria over the last two weeks, and killed hundreds of the Yazidi ethnic minority on Friday and Saturday in massacres in northern Iraq.

The terror group fell upon the Iraqi village of Kocho on Friday, after local Yazidi’s refused their ultimatum to convert to Islam or be murdered, according to reports by local Yazidis and Kurds. IS terrorists killed at least 80, taking a number of women and children captive in the process.

The violence continued on Saturday, as another 312 Yazidis were slaughtered in northern Iraq, apparently in the same village.

IS has been committing various atrocities against the Yazidi’s, including burying victims alive and selling others as slaves.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Saturday that IS has been busy in Syria as well, killing 700 members of the al-Sheitat tribe in the country’s eastern Deir Ezzor province, reports Al Jazeera.

After being captured by the jihadists, many of the 700 murdered tribesmen were brutally beheaded according to the reports, which stated that the killings occurred in Ghranij, Abu Hamam and Kashkiyeh villages.

Gruesome videos have reportedly surfaced of the beheadings, showing the IS terrorists laughing and belittling their victims by mimicking goats as they executed them.

The reports of IS slaughter come as Kurdish forces supported by US airstrikes fought Saturday to take back Iraq’s largest dam, the Mosul Dam, from IS forces in the north of the country, reports BBC.

The airstrikes have killed at least 11 IS terrorists according to reports, and Kurdish forces have been shelling IS positions.

Jihadists with the terror group captured the dam on August 7, and apparently were planning to destroy it and flood the region. The dam has a great strategic significance.
