Ateret Cohanim awarded the Oheiv Yisrael (“Lover of Israel”) Award to Mark Langfan, Arutz Sheva’s frequent security writer, along with his father, William K. Langfan, who is an expert on the PLO Charter.
Speaking to a packed crowd, which included renowned military expert, Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, Mark Langfan stated the Jews and Israel “shouldn’t rely on the kindness of others,” but rather on their primary instinct for self-survival.
He also showcased a brand-new multi-colored Israel Strategic Value graphic that shows that Israel is the only non-Muslim country between 370 million Muslims of the Middle East controlling 65 percent of the world’s oil supply and the 11 million Christians of Greece, a core-NATO country. Without Israel, he said, NATO would have to defend Greece against a Mediterranean Muslim caliphate.
Langfan widely distributes his Israel strategic maps to senators, congressmen, and foreign diplomats.

In the video produced by Ateret Cohanim especially for the Oheiv Yisrael Award ceremony, Langfan explained that Judea and Samaria (“The West Bank”) is a huge mountain range within easy Katyusha rocket range of the Israeli Sharon coastal plain that holds 70% of Israel’s Jewish population and 80% of her industrial base.
