Nakba: 1967 in Exchange for 1948?

Tel Aviv University students just commemorated the “Nakba”, the “catastrophe”, as the Arabs call the date of the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.
 
Meanwhile, Israel’s officials are considering the destruction of Migron and Beit El’s Ulpana.
 
But if we apply the ideas of “morality” and “justice” proclaimed by those who let the Nakba celebrations take place on or near the Israeli campus, the “university outpost” and the “Supreme Court outpost” should be dismantled as well.
 
Ramat Aviv is not only an upscale, prosperous neighborhood suburb, it’s also the location of theTel Aviv campus, where there are the academics who, even in their lectures, preach the establishment of a Palestinian state on the ruins of hundreds of “settlements”.
 
Unfortunately for these extreme leftists, their academic house also stands on the land of a former Arab village, Sheikh Munis, whose inhabitants abandoned it in 1948.
 
The village mukhtar’s home is now the Green House restaurant at Tel Aviv University.
 
Israel didn’t evict them. They fled, together with the Arabs of Jaffa, after believing the Muslim dictators who promised them that the invasion of Israel would be followed by an Arab victory and a new Holocaust of the “sons of pigs and monkeys”.
 
The Arabs would then be able to return, not only to Jaffa and to their villages, but also toTel Aviv.
 
In Jerusalem, even the the Knesset building, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Supreme Court building, which recently gave orders to demolish the beautiful houses in Beit El, all stand on what was once the Arab village of Sheikh Bader, which was abandoned in 1948.
 
If the land on which the settlements were built has to be given back to the Arabs because it “belongs to them”, then it will be the turn of Ramat Aviv.
 
And why not all the kibbutzim built on the ruins of pre-1948 Arab villages, and all the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, Haifa, Jaffa, Beersheba, and other cities from where the Arabs fled and Jews now live?

The conflict has no solution because it’s about the 1948 war, not the 1967 Six Day War.
 
The PLO, formed in 1964, which represents the “moderate” Palestinian faction, has a costituency of Arabs who left their homes seventy years ago, not 45 years ago – in 1948, not 1967.
 
Abu Mazen was born in Safed, Galilee, like the chief “negotiator” Nabil Shaath.
 
Hamas’ founder, Ahmed Yassin, was born in the village of Jorat Askalan, near Ashkelon, and was uprooted to Gaza in 1948.
 
Abdel Aziz Rantisi, one of the six founding members of Hamas, was born in Yibneh, nearAshkelon, and moved with his family to Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
 
The UN’s 1948 recognition of the State of Israel means nothing to them.
 
The authentic Arab position, which the Jewish Left always ignores, is a complete rejection of the “1967 in exchange for 1948” magic formula.
 
This is the deal offered to the Arabs by the “peace camp”:
 
We will hand over to you everything we got in the Six Day War, you will recognize the Jewish State and the Green Line as its lawful border. You will give up your talk of  “the sacred land of Palestine”, your previous homes and memories (referring to those of you who had them, and to the children and grandchildren and great grandchildren of those who had them), your dream of “returning” to them, you will give up everything you fought over through wars and terrorism and so-called “martyrs”.
 
It is for a good reason that the Arabs refer to Sderot and Ashkelon as “settlements” and see no difference between Ramat Aviv and Beit El.
 
The conflict between Jews and Arabs will be solved only when the first will rebuild the ghetto in Warsaw. Veteran White House Correspondent Helen Thomas told it as it is: the Jews must “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home” to Poland.
