IAF aircraft struck the branch of the National Islamic Bank in Gaza on Monday night, the Al Jazeera network reported.
According to the report, four people were wounded in the airstrike, part of the IDF’s Operation Pillar of Defense.
Hamas reportedly uses the bank, which opened in the area in 2009, to pay its terrorists’ salaries.
Palestinian Authority-based sources also said that the IAF also struck the Rafiah home of Hamas terrorist Raed Al-Attar overnight Monday. Al-Attar’s name was mentioned in recent days as the successor to Hamas arch-terrorist Ahmed Jaabari, whose targeted killing began the operation last Wednesday.
It was not reported whether Al-Attar was at home at the time of the attack or whether he was hit.
Gaza’s terrorists also continued their rocket fire on southern Israel late Monday night. Sirens sounded shortly before 2:00 a.m. in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council, as well as in Ashkelon, Sderot, Kiryat Gat and the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council.
The rockets exploded in open areas, causing no physical injuries or damages.
Rockets also exploded shortly before midnight in the Merhavim and Bnei Shimon Regional Councils. They exploded in open spaces, causing no physical injuries or damages.
Operation Pillar of Defense entered its sixth day on Monday, as the IDF attacked dozens of targets in Gaza, including hidden launchers, terrorist training camps, weapons storage sites and police stations belonging to Hamas.
Also on Monday, IDF planes targeted and eliminated four senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists.
Unconfirmed reports on Monday night said that a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza could go into effect “within several hours”.
The report by the Al-Arabiya network said that the forum of nine senior Israeli ministers was expected to approve an initial outline for a ceasefire with Hamas.
According to the outline offered by Egypt and described in the report, Israel will stop the air strikes on Gaza and stop the targeted killings of senior members of Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Gaza, in exchange for a complete cessation of the rocket fire into Israel.
